Southwest Florida extends along the Gulf of Mexico from the upstate Tampa Bay Area to the Everglades, southbound the Sunshine State. The Southwest is known as the contemplative part of Florida. Mostly, the beaches are located lonesome and beckon with clear, turquoise-colored water. The people are laid back and friendly, the economic and social level is high. People take their time and are outgoing, particulatrly towards Germans – probably because many Americans with German origin and German immigrants settled here.
The islands around Ft.Myers and Cape Coral are claimed to be the most beautiful in all Florida. Sanibel Island and Captiva Island offer wonderful, mile-long sandy beaches that invite for long walks and where one can, accounted fort their westward location, enjoy fantastic sunsets.
